News 9 partnered with the Oklahoma Blood Institute for a mobile blood drive at OETA. It started at 10 a.m. and ended at 6 p.m. Monday.
The OBI is highlighting the need for blood after severe tornadoes ripped through multiple states over the weekend.
Over the weekend, the Oklahoma Blood Institute sent blood units to Kentucky to help the victims of the devastating tornadoes that swept through the area.
It also supported 17 patients that were transferred to Tennessee from Kentucky.
“The drive couldn’t have come at a better time, “ said Dr. John Armitage, CEO of the Oklahoma Blood Institute. “Giving is what the holiday season is all about. It’s the Oklahoma Standard.”
If you missed the blood drive but still want to donate, you can schedule an appointment with OBI. Click here to make an appointment.
