Man Barricades Himself In NW OKC Apartment After Officer Fires Shot At Him, Police Say

A disturbance call turned into a shots fired call when officers responded to an apartment complex in northwest Oklahoma City.

UPDATE: The scene has been cleared. Officers on scene tell News 9 that the suspect was captured by police and there were no injuries.

A disturbance call turned into a shots fired call when officers responded to an apartment complex in northwest Oklahoma City.

When officers arrived, a male with a handgun got out of an apartment.

The Oklahoma City Police Department confirmed an officer was involved in a shooting Wednesday night at the Alora Apartments in the 6300 block of NW 63rd Street.

Police said it is unclear if the male fired a shot, but during the altercation, one officer fired a shot at the armed male.

Nobody was hurt and the armed person barricaded himself in an apartment unit.

The barricaded person is thought to be armed, and the department's tactical team is at the scene.

Officers have shut down NW 63rd Street, just west of MacArthur Boulevard, said it remain closed until the situation is resolved.
