Fight Over Food Ends With A Man Stabbing His Brother, Ending Up In Custody

A man is behind bars after police say he stabbed his brother during an argument. It happened at a home in Forest Park Sunday afternoon.

"We don't see that often at all and I've been here a year and I haven't seen it at all," said William Ealom, with Forest Park Police.

Ealom says around 12:30 p.m. he got a call from dispatch asking him to respond to Forest Park Fire Department, which is right next door to their police headquarters.

"When you hear something like that that's happening at your P.D. you just try to get there as fast as you can hoping everyone's okay," said Ealom.

When Officer Ealom arrived, he noticed a man had been stabbed in the chest.

"He told me that his brother and him had been fighting over some food," said Ealom. "His brother got mad because he tried to reach for his food and once he reached for his food he got up and stabbed him."

Other officers and paramedics quickly arrived on the scene near Coltrane and NE 36th. The victim told police because the fire department was close to home, he decided to walk there.

Officers then went to his house where they found his brother. They placed him into custody and booked him in the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of assault and battery.

Ealom says the victim did not have any life-threatening injuries.

"Once our medical got there, and he refused treatment," said Ealom.

Police say no one else was hurt during the incident and they didn't find anyone else inside the home. Police have not identified the man arrested yet.
