Multiple Tornado Warnings Issued For Southern Oklahoma

Severe storms likely this afternoon across central OK including the OKC metro, so stay weather aware.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for much of central and south-central Oklahoma until 10 p.m.

Counties included in the watch are Caddo, Canadian, Cleveland, Garvin, Grady and Hughes Kay, Kingfisher, Lincoln, Logan, McClain, Murray, Noble, Okfuskee, Oklahoma, Payne, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Seminole and Stephens counties.

Separate tornado warnings were also issued Wednesday night. A tornado warning was issued just after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday for Carter, Garvin, and Stephens counties.

News 9 Chief Meteorologist David Payne reported a tornado touched down southeast of Bray in Garvin County. When reached, officials in Garvin and Stephens counties could not confirm any storm damage at this time.

A second tornado warning was issued just after 7:30 p.m. for Carter and Murray counties, but the warning expired without additional notice.

Severe storms likely this afternoon across central OK including the OKC metro, so stay weather aware.

This morning cloudy skies with light rain and some patchy drizzle. Temperatures will warm from the 50s and 60s to the 70s later today.

As a cold front crashes in, storms will fire around 4 PM. These storms will form into a line and will push to the southeast.

Look for the threats for large hail up to the size of golf balls and winds to 65 mph.

There is concern right now for the evening commute and rush hour as storms are moving through the OKC metro. Stay alert.
