A Tulsa photo booth business is sharing how they've had to get creative to stay open during the pandemic.

The owners of Cocoa Events and Marketing say when the pandemic started, they lost all of their business- so they had to come up with something new to make sure they could stay open.

Erica and Thomas Perrier have been running a photo booth business, Cocoa Events and Marketing, part-time for five years, and in March of 2020, Erica decided to quit her full-time job to focus on the business.

"We're going to go into this full time, it was 2020, I thought this was our year," she said.

But a few weeks later, all large events were canceled, and the couple lost most of their business.

"We were trying to find a way to make the business work because we were doing photobooths, and then there were no photo booths, no more business," Thomas said.

So, Thomas says Erica came up with something new and started hosting small intimate events, using pallets to create picnics for celebrations, like birthdays and anniversaries.

"Here we are today, with everything we got, and succeeding, her ideas and her research showed us we can still survive during this pandemic," Thomas said.

The couple says they've seen a lot of success and it's taught them to not give up and encourages them to keep thinking of different ideas to keep their business successful.

"This was one of those things, it really taught us to dig really deep and not to panic, and just move forward, and go forward," Erica said.

They say their next goal is to open an event space to host different events.
