2 Men Detained, 1 Woman Hospitalized After Shooting In Spencer

Two men were taken into custody following a shooting Wednesday morning in Spencer.

A woman was shot and rushed to a nearby hospital.

Police were alerted of the shooting just before 6 a.m. Wednesday at a home near Northeast 36th Street and North Douglas Boulevard.

"When they arrived, they found that one female subject had been shot,” Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office spokesman Aaron Brilbeck said.

Police said the woman was shot in the head and transported to a local hospital. Two men were inside the home with her at the time of the shooting.

"We believe that one may be in a relationship with her," Brilbeck said. "They have both been detained."

Investigators said both men were taken in for questioning.  

Due to the nature of this case, we’re told Spencer police reached out to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office for assistance.

While the investigation is still in its beginning stages, but OCSO officials served a search warrant inside the home and are hopeful to piece together more information.

The sheriff’s office said it is still working to figure out what exactly lead up to the shooting.

"At this point, we just don't know;" Brilbeck said. "We don't have a motive behind it at this point."

The two men in questioning were not identified. News 9 spoke to neighbors in the area.

Some said they didn't hear any gunfire Wednesday morning and didn't necessarily see anything out of the ordinary. No one else was hurt during the incident.

The woman shot has also not been identified.
