Local restaurants are continuing to do their best to get back to normal, but it's been an uphill battle for many.

The Taste of Western returns Wednesday. The event like many others had to be put on pause last year due to the pandemic.

The event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Will Rogers Theatre on Wednesday night.

General admission tickets are $65. There are also VIP tickets available for $100.

With that you can sample food and drinks, hear live music and more.

This event is an example of how community members and business owners are coming together to try to get things running again.

The National Restaurant Association did a survey that found 95% of owners said they have been impacted by supply chain issues and staffing shortages.

Carl Milam, the President of Western Concepts Group, said that despite the challenges organizers are making it happen.

"It's life it is celebrating life, you know we have been through a hard year and were all just happy to celebrate and be happy and be a community again," said Milam.

Proceeds will go towards Western Avenue Beautification and new this year they are also giving a portion of the money raised to restaurant employees at each restaurant who have been impacted by the pandemic.
