The Oklahoma state Supreme Court denied a request to disqualify two Oklahoma Pardon & Parole Board members, according to court documents.

The request was made by Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater.

He requested the court disqualify Adam Luck and Kelly Doyle from participation in the Oklahoma Pardon & Parole Board proceedings relating to death row inmate Julius Darius Jones.

Jones was convicted of killing Edmond man Paul Howell in 1999. Jones maintains his innocence and he has garnered national support in the last few years.

This was not the first time Prater made this type of request. He argued Luck and Doyle could not be impartial after they made public statements.

Jones is set to have a clemency hearing on Oct. 26. His execution date was scheduled for Nov. 18, though the execution date is in jeopardy after a ruling was made by the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday.
