News 9 is getting a new look at just how many Oklahomans are being helped at the Department of Public Safety's Real ID Megacenter.

Officials say when the centers opened, there was a 60-day backlog for appointments, leaving many Oklahomans struggling to get seen.

Since July, the OKC and Tulsa centers have combined to serve 50,000 Oklahomans.

"It's a good opportunity to get your Real ID. You don't need it to fly until 2023, but it's a good opportunity to get it taken care of." Sarah Stewart, DPS Public Information Officer said. "You can even get your licensed renewed a year before the expiration date, even if you're a year out this might be a good idea to get it renewed."

The Oklahoma City center will be open through December 10th.
