The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a driver fell asleep at the wheel of a semi truck that later hit an excavator Saturday afternoon.
The collision happened when the semi truck driver drove off Interstate 44 eastbound and crashed into the excavator in the parking lot of a Utility Tri-State location.
Authorities said the driver falling asleep is due to a medical condition and was later transported to St. Francis Hospital.
A tow truck is still working to get the semi pulled out of the lot.
