Power is back on for hundreds of PSO customers on Thursday morning after Tulsa Police say a woman fell asleep at the wheel, lost control and crashed into a power pole near 61st and Peoria, knocking out power overnight.

Currently, most homes between 51st to 61st along South Peoria have power again, but officers say there is still work to be done.

According to police, the woman told them she was coming home from work late and fell asleep at the wheel. She crashed into one pole but kept going and then crashed into another pole just moments later.

The woman had cuts on her face, was showing signs of a concussion and was transported to the hospital.

TPD Cpt. Jerrod Hart said crews are still working to make sure power is back on quickly.

PSO says they are estimating all power to come back on by 7 a.m.
