The women of the OK City Chorus have moved their entire production online for the last two years due to the pandemic. Finally, they can start singing in person again.
“In a zoom rehearsal everyone is muted you sing but you cannot sing with others and you cannot blend voices,” said Nancy Nortz the events coordinator of OK City Chorus.
“We did 14 months of 100% online rehearsals every week,” said Nicki Austin the OK City Chorus Auditions Event Chair. ”Being able to be back together and hear the actual harmony blend has been fantastic.”
The women say the thing they have missed the most is being around their friends. But getting back to performing for live audiences is equally as exciting.
“To have a live audience to sing to but if no one have been there it still would have been wonderful to be outside and do a full show,” said Nortz.
There are about 50 women in their group but as they get back in person practice they are inviting other women who share the same love for music to join.
“It is really about the love of singing. The love of acapella that really will draw you in and get you hooked,” said Austin.
Those auditions will be held at OCCC. Visit this site for audition information: https://www.okcity.org/openauditions
