Firefighters Battle Large House Fire Near Edmond

Oklahoma City firefighters have a house fire near Edmond under control.

The fire was reported Thursday morning in the 17800 block of Prairie Sky Way near NW 178th Street and May Avenue.

Firefighters said the blaze was caused by a lightning strike, and the fire was in the attic of the two-story home.

One person and the family pets were inside the home when the fire started. The person was evaluated for possible smoke inhalation.
