The State Health Department says they need to hire 70 nurses at Wednesday's virtual career fair to help with COVID-19 vaccinations.
The state said the nursing shortage right now isn't just affecting Oklahoma but the entire country, and they don't expect it to go away anytime soon.
The department said Wednesday's career fair is an opportunity to build and create connections that will help the agency in the future.
"We are trying to build a strong pipeline, and let the community know that the OSDH is here, and we are hiring for nurses," said Jess Romero from the OSDH.
The virtual career fair starts at 9 Wednesday morning and will go till 4 in the afternoon.
The State Health Department said standard Monday through Friday positions are available, including regular shifts from 8 to 5.
Nurses may also enjoy additional employee perks, including benefit allowance, and time-off for holidays.
For nurses who are unable to attend the virtual career fair, they are advised to email humanresources@health.ok.gov.
