A metro family is outraged Saturday night after shootout results in the death of an armed teen. Oklahoma County DA David Prater declining to press charges saying the bullet that killed Daniel Green was fired in self-defense.

Dozens gathered as the group began at Wheeler Park and made their way over to the OKC police department downtown. Many were holding up signs and chanting for Green.

"We need justice, we need justice for him," said Kathy Green, his aunt. "We need justice for our family."

Oklahoma City Police say Green was killed during an altercation with a group of men who police say vandalized a car parked in front of his house in July.

"His life had just begun," said Green. "His voice was taken from him over a senseless act of violence."

Police say before the shooting, Green had a heated conversation over the phone with a man. Court documents show he eventually showed up at Green's along with two other people.

Police say Green was on his porch and armed. All four got into a shootout, that ended with Green's death.

"Watching your only child take his last breath is not easy," said Dana Brooks, his other aunt. "No parent should have to go through that."

The three men were arrested, but then later released. The Oklahoma County DA's office told homicide investigators they will not charge the three men involved, saying they killed Green in self-defense.

"You can't just go to someone's home and shoot somebody and call it self-defense," said Brooks.

"Self-defense is not an argument after that point," said Mike Green, his uncle. "Somebody pulls out in front of my house and gets out armed that's not self-defense."

Those close to Green say they'll continue to fight for him and hope his parents can meet with the DA's office to discuss their decision.
