How Attendees Are Faring At The Return Of The State Fair

It's Day 1 of the Oklahoma State Fair and it's back to fun fairgoers told me how excited they are after a one-year hiatus.

Fairgoers of all ages are enjoying the return of the fair. Some said they've been coming every single year.

Even with no vaccine or mask requirement, large crowds are flocking to the fairgrounds.

Veteran David Ross hasn’t missed one since he moved here.

“It’s been 20 years since I’ve been (in) Oklahoma,” Ross said. “I’m excited it’s open again.”

Visitors are making up for lost time, riding as many rides and playing as many games as possible.

Sisters Allison and Emma Wall said they love the rollercoasters and checking out local vendors.

Even for those who don't like rollercoasters, food is a uniting factor.

“I don’t do the rides at my age and my disability,” Ross said. “But I like to meet people and eat some of the good food.”

The good food includes lemonade, turkey legs, ice cream and more.
