The motto for this year’s Oklahoma State Fair is, “Back to fun in ‘21” and Thursday that motto finally comes out of the planning and preparation phases.
The fair is not requiring masks, negative COVID tests or vaccination cards to get through the gates but they will be trying to keep you safe.
"We're a fun place. We're a fun activity, and people love to come out and make family memories," said Scott Munz with the Oklahoma State Fair.
The fair community lost over $100 million last year, so this year's new challenge is to bring back the workforce. You may not notice it at all, but there will not be as many food or activity vendors.
"It's just something we are going to have to deal with every day. We will have to continue to deal with it because the vendors are living in the same world we are living in," said Munz.
