Scissortail Park is now offering private fishing events at its pond for Oklahoma youth programs.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma County was the first youth group to take advantage of the new offer. The children got to fish alongside their mentor matches while looking at the backdrop of the downtown skyline.
Scissortail Park Rangers worked with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife over the summer to stock the pond with 2,000 sunfish and catfish. The park plans to eventually offer organized fishing events for families.
You can check for future events on the park’s website https://scissortailpark.org/calendar/
