Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell says Oklahoma's state parks have seen a sharp increase in visitors by nearly 2 million.

Pinnell said that over the summer, the most popular spot by far was Beavers Bend State Park.

Other attractions Pinnell hopes people will check out this fall include the state's many man-made lakes and the new First Americans museum opening in less than two weeks.

"A world-class museum, right there in the heart of Oklahoma City. I am certainly going to start to tell everyone that they have to visit the First Americans Museum," said Pinnell.

According to Pinnell, downloading the Travel OK and the state parks apps are the best resources to find Oklahoma travel stops.
