Attorney Abby Broyles Files Candidacy Request For Congressional Race

Abby Broyles, a former journalist and attorney, filed a statement of candidacy for Oklahoma's fifth congressional district.

OKLAHOMA CITY -

Attorney Abby Broyles, a former TV journalist, filed a statement of candidacy for Oklahoma's fifth congressional district. Her campaign office made the announcement official late Wednesday morning.

According to the Federal Election Commission's website, Broyles' campaign committee filed the statement Tuesday.

Broyles, a Democrat, intends to challenge Republican congresswoman Stephanie Bice in 2022. Bice won the state's congressional district seat in 2020 after defeating then-incumbent Kendra Horn.

Broyles also lost a U.S. Senate race against longtime Republican Jim Inhofe last year.

After winning re-election, Inhofe said this term would be his last in the U.S. Senate.
