Legendary Oklahoma State running back Barry Sanders announced he tested positive for COVID-19 Friday morning.
The Pro Football Hall of Famer made the announcement via his Twitter account.
"Despite being double vaccinated, wearing a mask, and taking all the precautions I could... I tested positive for COVID,” Sanders tweeted. “I don't have any symptoms, but am staying in until I get the green light from the Docs (doctors).”
Sanders, while expressing hope for a speedy recovery from the virus, said he intends to be in-person for the Detroit Lions' regular season opener Sept. 12 against the San Francisco 49ers.
