Stray bullets flew Tuesday night in a southwest Oklahoma City neighborhood.

Police said the target of the shooting died in a medical marijuana dispensary parking lot near SW 66th and South Western Avenue.

Investigators are looking for whoever is responsible for killing 34-year-old Adrian Brown and think there could be multiple suspects.

Just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, residents near the American Cannabis dispensary heard gunshots.

“We heard some rapid shots it was like du du du du du,” said Joane Cornell, a witness. “We automatically look at each other and say, ‘You’re good? You’re good?’ and so we went outside and noticed all these police cars lighting up our neighborhood.”

Cornell quickly learned the gunshots came from the parking lot of American Cannabis. She saw paramedics working on Brown.

“They certainly tried their best to revive him,” said Cornell. “The victim, they were doing chest compressions almost on top of him.”

Police think Brown was in the business parking lot meeting someone when they got into a fight.

The only evidence the shooter left behind were bullet casings and several bullets that flew across the street into the door of an insurance company.

“They were looking for casings in the insurance, in the street and in the dispensary lot,” said Cornell.

This was not the first shooting at American Cannabis. Last year, cameras caught an angry customer shooting at the business. Police think the store's security cameras may help in the deadly shooting investigation.

The store owner and employees did not want to talk on camera, but said the store was open when the shooting happened.

“Right now, there are not suspects in custody,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk, Oklahoma City Police Department. “No one has been arrested and we’re asking for anyone with information to contact the homicide tip line.”

Police have not released any details about the suspect or suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide tip line at 405-297-1200.
