A man wanted for murder was captured by Oklahoma City police Thursday after a wild chase in the metro.

The chase ended on the southwest side of the city after Daniel Gonzalez, 29, crashed into several cars and a gas meter.

The suspect was wanted in connection to a murder from earlier in the week.

Bob Mills SkyNews 9 caught the final moments of Gonzalez's run from police. He was caught behind a Pizza Hut near Southwest 62nd and Western Avenue. The location was not far from the area where a person was shot and killed early Wednesday morning.

“We found a slug in our driveway,” witness Nasario Hernandez said. “Our neighbors next door said they had a bullet stuck in their roof.”

Hernandez vividly remembered hearing six gunshots near his home near Southwest 31st and May Avenue.

“All the (sic) sudden, I heard two shots, and it sounded like they were kind of muffled shots,” Hernandez said. “Then I heard four shots. Rapid four shots.”

Investigators quickly developed information that led them to Gonzalez. Authorities were looking for him prior to the pursuit.

“That suspect was spotted in a vehicle. Officer tried to pull that vehicle over, a pursuit initiated,” Oklahoma City Police Department Master Sgt. Gary Knight said. “He obviously knew that we were looking for him for that.”

During the chase, police said Gonzalez hit two cars while he sped through the intersection of Southwest 59th and Western Avenue. A couple blocks further, the wanted murder suspect crashed into a gas meter.

‘The suspect crashed yet again, disabling it,” Knight said. “The driver got out and fled on foot but was taken into custody shortly after.”

No one was hurt during the chase.

The victim’s name has not been released by police. Investigators are still in the process of looking for relatives.
