Tulsans are enjoying baseball and beer tonight but the focus at the Drillers game isn't only on the diamond. ONEOK Stadium's beloved beer man is retiring.

If the gates open at 6 you bet the beer guy is there to greet you with coolers in hand and if you've been to a Driller's Game in the last 11 years you've likely heard Evan Elsberry cracking jokes and cracking open cold ones.

"It's the one place I can always come that everybody likes me. I can heckle and talk smack and they give me money and at the end of the day we're all friends," said Evan Elsberry.

Elsberry said you can't ever mess with the beer man at a ballpark because no matter who you brought with you the beer man at the ballpark has more friends there than you do.

"This place has been very good to me. I've had amazing experiences. I've met some of my best friends in life here," Elsberry said.

The man's a legend around ONEOK Stadium. He's seen players come and go but some traditions stay the same. The Army veteran himself gives out beer to a fellow serviceman every game he works and around the 8th inning, Elsberry finds his favorite fans of the night and slams a beer.

Every season comes to a close.

"My last game's Saturday. Why," said Elsberry.

Elsberry started his own business a year ago.

"I'm gonna have to close one door to open up another," said Elsberry.

He always asks: "How's your beer? Who's ready?"

Well, is he ready? Yes, he said he's ready.

"I will come, but I'll probably have a beer at the second inning instead of the 8th," said Elsberry.
