A Kellyville family is going through a heart-wrenching loss after saying goodbye to a husband and father of four who died today.

The Kellyville Fire Department and the community are rallying around the family, trying to do something good.

"We just all come together and help, that is what a community needs to do," said Sheri Staiger with KVFD Women's Auxiliary.

The Fire Department is planning a fundraiser for Ray McCoy and Julie Brown. They said the couple has been supportive of the department for years, so when Julie posted on social media about Ray's declining health, the firefighters wanted to help in any way they could.

On Thursday Ray died, leaving behind Julie and their four kids. People who don't even know the family are stepping up to help in any way they can to make the fundraiser successful, donating food and supplies.

Hamburgers, chips and drinks will be sold for $7, and there will be gifts baskets, cakes and pies to purchase. All the money will go to Ray's funeral expenses, medical bills and to help support his kids.

The fundraiser will be in the parking lot of the Kellyville Fire Department on Saturday, August 7, at 12 p.m.
