Bartlesville police officers are investigating a stabbing at a motel which left one woman seriously hurt.
The stabbing happened around 11 a.m. Saturday at the Skyline Motel off Washington Boulevard.
Sergeant Daniel Mains with the Bartlesville police’s Criminal Investigation Division said one of the residents at the Skyline Motel noticed the injured woman.
When they arrived, Mains said they found a woman in her mid-30’s lying in a pool of blood in front of a room. Authorities said they are still not sure why the woman was attacked but said the man who they think stabbed her knew her.
The woman was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Mains said the suspect chose to not cooperate with police.
“He seemed erratic. I think that is the best way to describe it,” Mains said.
Officers said they're familiar with this motel.
“We do get a bit of call volume coming out of the Skyline Motel,” Mains said. “It’s one of our cheaper motels in town, so it attracts a lot of people from a lot of different walks of life, everything from drug calls, assaults, you name it.”
Officers are talking to several witnesses. The suspect was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Mains said this should remind folks to stay vigilant, even in the daytime.
“If you see something out of place or weird, call us,” Mains said.
Mains said he plans to speak with the victim to hopefully discover a motive.
