Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Southern Oklahoma

Two severe thunderstorm watches have been issued Saturday for much of the northern half of the News 9 viewing area.

Two severe thunderstorm watches have been issued Saturday for much of the northern half of the News 9 viewing area.

Counties included in the earliest watch are: Beckham, Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Cleveland, Comanche, Custer, Dewey, Garfield, Grady, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Kay, Kingfisher, Lincoln, Logan, McClain, Noble, Oklahoma, Payne and Pottawatomie, Tillman and Washita counties. The watch lasts until 12 a.m. Sunday.

A second severe thunderstorm watch was issued until 3 a.m. Sunday. It includes the following counties: Carter, Garvin, Hughes, Jefferson, Love, Murray, Pontotoc, Seminole and Stephens.

Possibly damaging winds of 70-mph-plus and flash flooding are the biggest threats with Saturday's storms.
