The story of two cousins' births is intertwined in the most unexpected way.
On Monday, June 28, Logan and Kelsie Lambert gave birth to their son, Lawson, at Norman Regional HealthPlex. Across the hall, Kelsie’s brother, Kodie Todd, and his wife, Alexa, were giving birth to their son, Roland.
It all started in 2012 with Alexa began dating Kodie. The foursome quickly became close friends and even participated in each other’s weddings.
Finding out they were both pregnant was a joyous surprise for the couples.
“We had talked about, when we told our families, what were the odds if we had them on the same day," said Alexa.
But they all quickly dismissed the thought, thinking that would never happen.
As the pregnancies progressed, Alexa was scheduled to be induced at 37 weeks on June 28.
In the morning, Todd and Alexa prepared to go to the hospital for the birth when the phone rang. It was Kelsie who told them her water had broken at 3 a.m. and they were on their way to the hospital.
This was three weeks early. Logan was so focused on getting Kelsie to the hospital, he had completely forgotten about the significance of the day.
“I didn’t even realize until halfway to the hospital,” said Logan.
On Monday, the couples welcomed cousins, Roland and Lawson on what will always be a day to remember for this family.
The couples are already planning birthday parties together and many other celebrations in anticipation that these cousins will be extremely close.
