Stillwater Police Say 2-Year-Old Killed In Auto-Pedestrian Accident

Stillwater police confirmed a 2-year-old girl died Thursday after she was hit by a vehicle.

The accident happened just before 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of North Perkins Road and E0060 Road.

The child was transferred to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

An on-scene investigation determined that the driver stopped in a parking lot to speak with people nearby when the child crawled under the stopped vehicle.

Authorities said the driver did not know the child was under the vehicle when they began driving away.

The driver then stopped, departed the vehicle and began lifesaving efforts on the child.
