Marshall Brewing Company Taproom To Reopen 4 Months After Fire Damage

Marshall Brewing Company is getting ready to reopen its taproom four months after a massive fire at the building next door caused water and smoke damage. 

The founder Eric Marshall said it's been a hard time, but they are now ready to welcome people back. 

A fire destroyed the building next door to Marshall Brewing Company four months ago and damaged forced the taproom to close.

"You kind of put your head down and figure it out and move on, I mean that's the nature of small business," Marshall said. 

Marshall said the fire was upsetting, and mainly caused water and smoke damage. He said he is just grateful it wasn't worse, and no one was hurt. 

"They did have to bust through part of the wall behind the taps here to fight the fire from the other side because that's the common wall with the building that caught fire," he said. 

Construction crews demolished what was left of the building next door a few weeks ago. 

Marshall said this was the final step to reopening and to find out if there was any structural damage. 

"The big part of this was remediating the smell from the smoke, and you can't really remediate the smell when the source is still there," he said. 

Marshall said while it hasn't been an easy road between the fire and the pandemic, he's thankful for how the community has supported them, especially the firefighters who worked so hard to make sure the building was OK. 

"I keep joking, you know the building is down from the fire, hopefully this is like the phoenix rising from the ashes moment, that maybe we're going to turn the table and start having some good luck now," he said. 

Marshall Brewing Company Taproom will open at 3 p.m. on Friday.
