Authorities said a detainee at the Oklahoma County Detention Center was found dead Thursday.
According to the news release, the man was found at approximately 4 p.m. in the holding area of the jail by an ODOC staff member.
Life saving measures were immediately started but were unsuccessful, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at approximately 4:30 p.m.
The Oklahoma City Fire Department responded and assisted at the scene.
The state Medical Examiner will conduct a full examination and release the findings at a later date.
The name of the detainee is not being released until the family is notified.
At least 11 people have died at the jail since July.
