Man Who Was Killed While Behind The Wheel In Del City Is Identified

Oklahoma City police officers have identified the shooting victim of a homicide early Friday morning.

A deadly shooting happened around 4 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Southeast 44th Street and South Sunnylane Road.

According to police, a father and son were inside of a vehicle. The father was behind the steering wheel.

The son told police that he heard a gunshot and then saw his father, identified as 76-year-old Edward Akufo, was slumped over the wheel.

Fire and EMSA officials said the man died at the scene.

No suspect information is known at this time.
