Three people are behind bars following a drug raid in Garvin County. Police confiscated several pounds of meth.
Police were serving warrants for identity fraud and searching for meth and other illegal narcotics Friday morning at a home on Cherry Street.
During the search, they discovered 38 pounds of meth.
"That's probably the most I've ever seen in any kind of form of that methamphetamine," said Paoli Assistant Police Chief Caleb Shrock.
Police also confiscated marijuana and a home moonshine still.
One neighbor said she was at home when she heard the raid.
"I could hear them say, 'put your hands up, come out with your hands up'," said one neighbor.
Three other agencies also assisted during the investigation. Shrock said all three suspects were inside the house at the time of the search.
"The two came out pretty willingly," Shrock said. "The other one at that time, Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police did have to try and make entry into the house before he came out."
According to police, two of the suspects were booked into Garvin County and the other in Murray. Because of the living conditions, two children were placed into protective custody.
"It doesn't usually happen in Paoli like this," one neighbor said. "You don't have something that major happen, we're a small town."
A cellphone, vaping items, as well as containers and vials of liquid and seeds were taken to be further investigated.
Police said they're still investigating.
The three suspects have not been identified at this time.
