A mother of three died in a crash in Union City. Now, police say they've arrested the man responsible for killing 30-year-old Kasey Working.

She was an elementary school teacher in Mustang.

"Our hearts and prayers go out to this family, and everyone affected by this," said Richard Stephens, Union City Police Chief.

Police said the crash happened near State Highway 152 and Banner Road the night of April 29.

"The control module of the vehicle indicated that the collision happened at a very high rate of speed," Stephens said.

When officers got to the scene, one driver, Working was already dead. The other driver, Jimmy Dwayne Grissam, was rushed to OU Medical.

As investigators were piecing together the evidence, detectives learned that Grissam had run a stop sign.

"We can establish scientifically how fast the vehicle was going prior to and at collision," Stephens said. "There's no way he stopped for the stop sign."

Mustang Public Schools said Working was a teacher at Centennial Elementary School when she died.  After the incident, the district released a statement, saying in part ...This is a difficult time for the school family..."

"There's friends all over this community, friends on the fire department, who went to school with her," Stephens said. "This has been a tragedy for everyone involved."

Police said Grissam was released from the hospital Tuesday night and then arrested. He was booked in the Canadian County Jail on complaints of first-degree manslaughter and driving under the influence.

Stephens said they're now waiting on lab results from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to find out exactly what was in Grissam's system.
