Choctaw police are searching for a suspect accused of shooting three people at the rodeo over the weekend.

Police said they received a call around 11:45 p.m. Saturday night of shots fired at the rodeo near Northeast 36th and Henney Road.

"When we arrived on scene, we found that there were three victims," said Choctaw Police Chief Kelly Marshall.

However, the suspect was never found. Police said the three men shot were taken to a local hospital an are expected to be OK.

"We're sick," said Janet Prine, President of the Choctaw Round Up Club. "We do a lot for this community; we hold a lot of events out here."

Prine said they leased their arena for the event. She said there were around 1,500 who attended.

"A lot of kids were out here, and they scrambled," said Prine.

Danell Tipton is the organizer for the rodeo and said it’s meant to be family friendly.  He was working inside the arena when he heard the gunfire.

"Anybody could have got shot," said Tipton. "Anybody could have got hurt, it could have been a lot worse than it was."

Tipton believes this was a feud which stemmed from a prior rodeo. Police said there is no suspect description, but there was a clue left at the scene.

"There was a weapon recovered, so we don't know whether that was one that somebody just had and left or was it actually involved," said Marshall.

Marshall also said no one else was injured.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office is investigating a drive-by shooting Monday that they say is possibly connected.

If you have any information on either of these shootings, you're asked to call police.
