Sheriff: Witness Saw Plane Missing Wing Before Crash That Killed Tulsa Family

An eyewitness said a plane was missing a wing before it crashed Friday killing a Tulsa family and another person.

A Tulsa Orthodontist, his wife, and their son were killed in a plane crash Friday in Arkansas. The FAA said a fourth person was also killed in the crash.

An eyewitness who called 911 to report a plane in distress told authorities the plane was still in the air but missing a wing as it passed by his house in rural Arkansas.

The plane crashed approximately 12 miles West of Danville, Arkansas, according to Sheriff Bill Gilkey.

Gilkey, who has been to the scene several times, said it appeared the plane crashed almost vertically, without hitting many of the surrounding trees in what he described as an isolated and dense section of the Ouchita National Forest.

Gilkey also identified the pilot Timothy Allison of Muskogee as the fourth victim of the crash.

Gilkey said NTSB and FAA investigators had finished work at the scene, and the wreckage was removed Tuesday morning.

The crash killed Dr. Mark Andregg, an orthodontist in Tulsa, his wife Shannon, and their son, Nathan.

Andregg was a licensed private pilot, but Gilkey said it was his understanding Allison was at the controls of the plane.

Allison is a licensed commercial and instrument rated pilot.

The plane crashed in an area of thunderstorms Friday afternoon.
