Police say one person is dead and the suspect is in custody after an overnight shooting and pursuit Monday in southwest Oklahoma City.

According to authorities, police responded to the shooting call around 12:45 a.m. Monday near Southwest 15th Street and South Czech Hall Road.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found one woman dead, identified as 36-year-old Emilia Koteen. Police said Koteen was shot in her driveway after the suspect, 18-year-old Javier Lewis fired shots at another family member.

Police said that Lewis fled the scene and was stopped a short time later by an officer from the Violent Crimes Apprehension Team.

Lewis sped away, leading officers on a pursuit before crashing into a police vehicle, police said.

He was eventually taken into custody and booked into the Canadian County jail on several charges, including murder in the first degree, according to authorities.

This is a developing story.
