Tulsa Man Found Guilty Of Killing 2-Month-Old Daughter

A Tulsa County jury is still deliberating in the case of a man charged with murdering his two-month-old daughter.

UPDATE (7:12 p.m., April 15, 2021): A Tulsa County jury found Martrell Thames guilty of murder on Thursday night.

The murder charge comes with a punishment of life in prison. Thames was also found guilty on a second count that would result in a year-long punishment at the Tulsa County jail.

The judge agreed with the jury's recommendations. Thames has now been officially sentenced.

A Tulsa County jury is still deliberating in the case of a man charged with murdering his two-month-old daughter.

Investigators at the time said the little girl had significant trauma including brain bleeds and fractured ribs.

The jury watched body camera video Tuesday of when officers first responded to Martrell Thames' apartment complex in 2019.

Thames told police he laid his two-month-old baby down and went to go take a shower, but when he came back the baby wasn't breathing.
