A second bill honoring Tulsa Police Sergeant Craig Johnson is headed to Governor Kevin Stitt’s desk.
The bill could change the accessory to murder law so a person could be charged with accessory if they knew or reasonably should have known the victim in the case could have died because of the suspect’s actions.
Johnson died after a suspect shot and killed him during a traffic stop in Tulsa last summer. A jury found a man guilty of accessory to a felony, after giving the suspect a ride from the scene and disposing of the suspect’s gun.
A law to combat scrap metal theft was also named after Sgt. Johnson.
