Tulsa police have arrested a suspect they say was involved in the murder of a man at a Tulsa apartment complex on Wednesday evening.
According to the police report, Luis Ornelas had been involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend when another woman arrived at the apartment complex to pick her up. Ornelas opened fire on the vehicle hitting and severely injuring Lorenzo Alvarado. Police said that Alvarado later died in the hospital from his injuries.
According to police, officers received a call to the Rustic Woods apartments near East 81st Street and South Yale Avenue around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, after several people had reported hearing gunshots in the area.
When officers arrived on the scene they found Lorenzo Alvarado and a woman sitting in a car. Alvarado, who had been shot, was sitting in the driver's seat and the woman, who was uninjured, was in the passenger seat.
Police said that Ornelas fled from the scene of the shooting, but was stopped and arrested by patrol officers near East 61st Street and South Yale Avenue.
