Country music singer Trisha Yearwood has tested positive for COVID-19. The announcement was made Wednesday evening on Garth Brooks’ Facebook page.
The two canceled shows and events earlier this month to quarantine after a team member had tested positive for the virus.
According to the social media post, Yearwood contracted the virus and is experiencing symptoms. Brooks continues to test negative.
“Anyone who knows me knows my world begins and ends with Miss Yearwood, so she and I will ride through this together,” Brooks said, according to the post. “And anyone who knows her knows she's a fighter and she's been doing everything right, so I know we’ll walk out the other side of this thing together.”
Brooks asked for prayers and good thoughts for Yearwood.
“If anyone asks, that's what you can do for her. That’s what I’m doing,” he said. “Living with her, I sometimes take it for granted she’s one of the greatest voices in all of music, so the possible long-term effects on her concern me as her husband and as a fan,” the post continued.
