Okmulgee Co. Sheriff's: 17-Year-Old Drowns Trying To Save Dog

The Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office said a 17-year-old girl drowned Thursday while trying to pull a dog out from a frozen pond.

The Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office said a 17-year-old girl drowned Thursday while trying to pull a dog out from a frozen pond.

Around 5 p.m., the Sheriff's responded to reports of the girl falling through the ice and into the pond.

Multiple counties assisted including Dewar and Henryetta police and Fire Departments.

Emergency crews conducted a search and the teen was later found dead.
