The Oklahoma City Thunder's Tuesday night game caused some controversy as Oklahoma continues to weather a major winter storm.
Residents across the state have experienced rolling blackouts throughout the week due to the Southwest Power Pole reaching energy emergency level 3.
Utility companies have asked customers to help conserve energy.
Some Oklahomans were displeased when the Thunder game continued as planned instead of being postponed.
In a statement to News 9 the city officials issued a statement saying:
“We determined we would greatly reduce power use in the building and still move forward with the game.”
News 9’s Thunder Reporter Steve McGehee has more on the city’s response.
