Hosting the Temple Owls, the Golden Hurricane found a way to end up on top, 72-66.

Tulsa’s largest lead of the game was 18, but it wasn’t without a battle to finish the game in the lead. In the second half, it looked like TU was going to pull away and cruise to victory, but the Owls put up a fight to the end.

Team veterans Elijah Joiner and Brandon Rachal topped the point column, Joiner with 17 and Rachal with 13.

As a team, the Golden Hurricane shot 42.9% from the field and struggled beyond the arc, shooting just 26%.

Tulsa did force the Owls to give up 19 turnovers, while holding onto the ball themselves, giving it up just seven times.

Tulsa is now 10-9 on the season, and 7-7 in the American conference. The Golden Hurricane will have a week until the next game on Wednesday, Feb. 24 against Cincinnati.
