Doctor George Henderson made history not only at the University of Oklahoma but in the city of Norman itself.
Dr. Henderson became the third full-time Black faculty member at ou in 1967. He was the first Black professor with a distinguished professorship, and then became the first Black dean of a degree issuing college. Henderson and his wife Barbara were also the first Black couple to buy a house in Norman.
He joined News 9 at 9 a.m. Thursday to share about breaking all those barriers.
