High heating bills brought on by cold weather can be difficult to pay. Especially for many Oklahomans who are struggling to find work amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Community Actions Agency OKC, help is just a click away with their utility assistance program.
Residents must either provide a pay stub or prove that they are unemployed due to the pandemic to show they qualify for assistance.
“We can provide up to $1,200 in some cases to help those bills,” said Jessie Thompson, the Executive Director of the organization.
“The quickest way is to apply through our website. That application comes straight into our email and we can contact you quickly to get the information we need,” said Thompson.
Community Action Agency OKC also has another program that helps people insulate their homes to better retain heat.
