The Oklahoma City-County Health Department said it will begin taking appointments for Thursday’s COVID-19 vaccination clinic for people 65-years and older.

You can sign up online starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday or call 405-425-4489 for over the phone help.

The OCCHD said vaccinations will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday at Mercy Hospital, 4300 W. Memorial Rd.

Appointments are available until 6 p.m.

The health department said it will take time to get through phase two, because Oklahoma County is the most populated county in the state. Plus, it’s still making its way through phase one.

The OCCHD said it was planning to use the state’s online scheduling tool but it’s not ready yet. The state said it will launch the tool on Thursday.

“We have to do this, right now, one week at a time. Until we get better information from operation warp speed at the federal level,” said Deputy Health Commissioner Keith Reed.

The OCCHD said more vaccination clinics are planned for this month.
