Suspect In OKC Police Pursuit Dies After Crashing Stolen Vehicle

Oklahoma City Police say an overnight chase led to a driver killing himself.

Police say the suspect stole a car from a home near Northwest 42nd and Drexel. After leading police on a short chase, he crashed into a parked car near 42nd and Independence.

"While the officers were trying to make contact with the driver, trying to call the driver out, they heard a gunshot," said OKCPD Lt. Dennis Layden. "It appeared that the driver, it was a white male, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound,"

Police have not released the man's name. No one else was hurt.
