Oklahoma City Police say a woman is dead after being hit by a car near Linn Ave and Northwest Expressway
Early Monday morning, police say the woman was with a friend walking on Northwest Expressway when a car hit her, and she died on the scene.
Officers say the woman was walking westbound through the median near Linn Avenue, this is in-between Pennsylvania and May Ave. She started to pick up items out of the street when the person she was with warned her about the traffic.
As the victim continued to step off the curb, a car hit her, police said.
"She did that one more time, and a vehicle that was eastbound hit her, and she was deceased on the scene," said Dennis Layden with the Oklahoma City Police Department.
The victim was identified as 32-year-old Brittany A. Thompson.
The driver stayed on the scene as the officers arrived and is cooperating with the police.
Police arrested 25-year-old Anquanette Prince on complaints of murder and driving under the influence.
Officers said Prince exhibited signs of impairment.
This is a developing story.
