Right now all students at TPS are going to be back in distance learning starting today until at least January 4th.

The next TPS school board meeting is scheduled for December 7th when the board expects to discuss current COVID-19 trends and the plan to get kids back to in-person classes. On Monday, Tulsa Public Schools decided all ages of students in the district will return to distance learning once again, due to rising COVID 19 cases in Tulsa County.

TPS says there are already currently 27 active positive cases and 156 students and teachers in quarantine within the district. TPS Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist says sending the kids home isn't what she wants, but it is what's needed.

Students will be in distance learning through the last day of classes before winter break which is on Friday, December 18th.
